KIRK Key Interlocks: Installation and Removal

Materials Required

* Series NRX Kirk Key Interlock Kit * Screwdriver * Wire strippers * Electrical tape * Terminal block * Power source

Installation Procedure

  1. Mount the Interlock Unit: Position the interlock unit at the desired location and secure it using the provided screws.
  2. Connect the Cables: Strip approximately 1/4 inch of insulation from the ends of the cables. Connect the cables to the terminal block according to the wiring diagrams provided with the kit.
  3. Secure the Terminal Block: Secure the terminal block to the interlock unit using the provided screws.
  4. Connect to Power Source: Connect the power source to the interlock unit as per the wiring diagram.
  5. Test the Interlock: Insert the KIRK key into the interlock unit and turn it to the locked position. Ensure the locking bolt extends and engages properly. Remove the key and verify that the locking bolt retracts fully.

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect Power Source: Disconnect the power source from the interlock unit.
  2. Remove the Terminal Block: Unscrew the screws securing the terminal block to the interlock unit and detach the block.
  3. Disconnect the Cables: Disconnect the cables from the terminal block.
  4. Remove the Interlock Unit: Unscrew the screws securing the interlock unit to the mounting surface and carefully remove the unit.
