Tragic Motorcycle Fatality on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz
Victim Identified, Safety Concerns Raised
On Saturday, November 12, 2023, at approximately 2:30 PM, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 1 west of Santa Cruz, claiming the life of a 62-year-old motorcyclist from Los Gatos.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the victim was traveling westbound on Highway 1 at Dimeo Lane when he collided with a vehicle. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Police have not released any information about the other vehicle involved.
